On the Genealogy of Morals
Author: Friedrich Nietzsche

For me, one of the most brilliant texts ever written, Nietzsche suggests to us the existence of two types of morality, slave morality and master morality. Then he discusses how each type affects us deeply, explaining how resentment can be the greatest enemy of the power to live.

There is an incredible beauty in his reasoning that – even if it is written as if everything were a complaint – the philosopher shows us possible ways to extract our greatest vital energy, making extremely practical notes on how our way of acting in the face of adversity and life’s setbacks can shape (for better or worse) our entire trajectory. A masterpiece.
